What is it: It starts with a 45-minute Music Together® class experience designed especially for infants 9 months and under and their grown-ups. Learn songs that will become go-to parenting tools and challenge your musical self to sing in harmony, dance for your baby, and expand your musical abilities beyond what you thought you could do. You’ll be guided by expertly trained Music Together teachers who have serious musical and performance chops and love making music with babies and adults alike. A blast for you, and a rich, powerful experience for your baby. Award-winning Music Together Lullaby CD included.
After class we'll have a special guest who'll talk to you about topics that interest to you. All in our lovely, air-conditioned studio.
August 7th - Special Guest Mark Price of Alchemy Collective, will discuss mindfulness in parenting and the benefits of meditation.
August 14th - Special Guest Laura Mårtensson from Mark Fisher Fitness, will talk about getting back in shape after childbirth and taking care of yourself while caring for your little one.
Meet our Guest Speakers
Mark is an artist and performance coach who discovered Vedic meditation after suffering from a mild case of PTSD. He found the effects to be so transformative that he began a fifteen month training program with Ziva Meditation to become a qualified independent teacher of Vedic Meditation which also lead him to further training in Rishikesh, India. He’s taught various classes at MNDFL in New York as well as leading corporate workshops in meditation for various high performance companies. With a 20 year career on Broadway and T.V./film and 14 years as a teacher and performance coach, he’s also developed programs such as Base Camp and The Wellness Project for creatives. He continues his studies with several master teachers of the Vedic tradition.
After working as a dancer in Musical Theatre for over 15 years, Laura decided to make the transition into the fitness world. In 2014 she joined the clan at Mark Fisher Fitness as a trainer and is currently the Fitness Manager at their Hell’s Kitchen location. Having a passion for beautiful movement made this transition a very natural and exciting one. Laura is a certified trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and holds additional certifications in functional training, kettlebells and pre/postnatal fitness coaching. She has a passion for helping people discover their strength and for helping women navigate their fitness through pregnancy and beyond!
